Viên thịt xíu mại sốt cà có màu đỏ đẹp mắt, mềm nhưng không bở, thấm sốt chua ngọt. Nước sốt chan lên cơm nóng ăn rất ngon. Xíu mại sốt cà chua còn rất hợp để ăn với bánh mỳ. Món ngon đơn giản mà vẫn đủ chất và ngon miệng.
Cà chua rửa sạch, bỏ ruột, cắt nhỏ. Hành lá rửa sạch, cắt khúc nhỏ.
Trộn đều thịt đã xay với trứng, bột năng, tiêu, 1 muỗng cà phê hạt nêm, tỏi.
Tiếp đến, vo thịt thành viên vừa ăn, cho vào chảo dầu nóng, để lửa to. Chỉ chiên vàng mặt ngoài rồi vớt ra.
Đặt chảo khác lên bếp, cho 1 muỗng canh dầu ăn vào. Khi dầu nóng thì cho tỏi vào chảo, phi thơm rồi trút cà chua vào, xào nhừ. Cho vào 1/2 muỗng cà phê hạt nêm, 3 muỗng cà phê đường, 2 muỗng canh nước.
Cho thịt vào hỗn hợp sốt cà chua ở trên, đun nhỏ lửa thêm 10-15 phút, thỉnh thoảng đảo cho thịt ngấm sốt.
Bày trí thịt ra đĩa, rắc hành lá cắt nhỏ lên trên, ăn nóng với cơm hay bánh mì đều rất ngon.
