Gloria Harlow has a lot of attitude and it’s on full display when Harper and her betrothed, Detective Jared Monroe, show up on the scene of a murder. Gloria’s boyfriend is dead … and the story she’s telling doesn’t exactly fit the scene.
Jared finds himself in a conundrum. He loves Harper more than life itself but her mother is a legitimate suspect … and he can’t ignore his duties and cover for a woman he’s never very much liked. His life is thrown into turmoil when Gloria decides to move in – she’s too traumatized to stay by herself, after all – and he and Harper start working on the case from different angles.
When you add in Harper’s salty best friend Zander, who is enjoying the show far too much, and her father, things start spiraling quickly.
Harper is determined to clear her mother – and get her out of the house before Jared explodes – and she wants to do it in record time. Unfortunately for her, the dead guy was known as a world-class jerk and the list of suspects is long and sundry.
The two sides are going to have to come together to solve this one … and even then, the final answer might tear their entire world apart.

Another Great Book
Loved the story. Oh my, what surprises we find out in this book. Although I think Harper and Jared's reactions regarding their overnight house guests was a little over the top. I am sure it was meant to be a funny scene but it came across very judgmental instead. But it sure was eye opening. The ending of the book was great. This was a really good book.
Fun read
This author and series are always enjoyable and this newest installment is no exception. With this book, the family drama goes to a whole new level, there is of course a murder mystery, snark, ghosts, and a healthy dose of romance. Highly recommend this book and this series.
Great book
I love this series each book just gets better and better. I like how their was more interaction from Harper's parents in this book as it explains a lot about her. This Author rose a good job of making each book easily readable as a standalone book but makes you want to read the whole series because you can not help but love each character in the book.
Another great installment
Harper, Jarad, and Zander are at it again. I love the way these characters interact and stay true. This story had a moral dilemma that was handled with grace. I liked it.
Good book
I really like learning more about the families. Jared and Harper are great together.. Sander and Shawn are great. Harper's mother is not a nice person.

What a great read had me laughing out loud. Pour Harper having to put up with crazy mom and dad. Like to laugh and uncover clues this is the book for you
Great romantic mystery
I love this series, the heroine is smart and honest and interesting, the hero is sweet and interesting on his own, their relationship is wonderful. My favorite is that they work together to solve the mystery!
